Thank you for finding a reasonle solution to this growing problem. Street racers are going to race, no matter what they are up against or the penalties at stake. They are going to want some place or time that they can actually use the cars and upgrades that they buy, and finding a legal place to do it is the best solution.

I would like to make a comment about wording. Dragracing is done legally on a Drag track and Streetracing is done Illigally on the Street. Getting these two mixed up gives us Dragracers a bad name.

I am new to the Tucson area and come with a passion for the import culture out of LA - not one who cares for street racing... anyhow, I am developing a newsletter/magazine project that will be printed in limited quantities and the balance will be a webzine, all under development. your solution is flawed in the fact that what makes it so attractive is the ILLEGAL part the fact that the law is being broken NOPI sponsors events all over the nation and this hasnt even caused a dent in the street racing most events are held during the day. and most racing is done at night. plus a police department actualy allowing an illegal event is unheard of then on top of all this most street racers have illegal mods done to there cars and wouldnt want to take a chance on being caught by the cops face it cops are cops there going to do there job i feel you need to do more research

I agree very strongly that there needs to be more orginazation with law enforcement because drag strips keep getting shut down. If cops could do this there would be less trouble getting caused and less problems all together.
